Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts

A comeback Medvedev won his maiden trophy for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging period, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in especial - led to him falling of the elite rankings and finally separating with former coach Cervara.

Now collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set victory over opponent Moutet.

It is Medvedev's initial trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt from spring of that year.

Victory also indicates he has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 different competitions.

"For the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is particularly special," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had lost his previous six finals, comprising in that event earlier this year.

His defensive approach and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had led commentators to wonder if his skill to perform at the highest level was over.

But the player has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete positively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

The champion came back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging opponent, taking 4 of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The competitors traded service breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his first ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to push for a decider.

He saved four initial break points in a close third set before the champion won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, the winner clinched victory with a rally at the net area, with his opponent incapable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
